Mayor of Brovary since 2008 — with a criminal past from 1998

Mayor of Brovary since 2010 (acting since 2008) — one of the longest-serving mayors in Ukraine. He ran from the Party of Regions, which he left on February 20, 2014, during the Euromaidan. In 1998, the Kyiv police searched for Sapozhko as a suspected participant in an armed attack on a kiosk, during which a young person was killed; he has no criminal record. His wife, Maryna Sapozhko, is a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council; the couple controls extensive resources in Brovary.

Range Rover for 10,000 UAH from the elevator company, NAPC protocol, and court delay tactics

“Slidstvo.Info” established that a Brovary company that repairs city elevators purchased two new cars in autumn 2023 and leased them at symbolic rates — a 2023 Range Rover Sport to Sapozhko’s wife for 10,000 UAH/month (market lease price ~50–60,000 UAH). The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAPC) issued a protocol on an administrative offense for conflict of interest. In the Brovary court, in January 2025, hearings in the case of illegal acceptance of gifts were postponed twice due to illness of Sapozhko, his lawyer, and later the judge. There is no criminal verdict; the case is chronically delayed in court.
