Representative for strategic communications of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR of the Ministry of Defense), deputy chairman of the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War. He became the main public voice of the GUR after the start of the full-scale invasion — regularly commenting on intelligence operations, prisoner exchanges, and Russian Federation actions on media platforms.

The target of special operation "Enigma 2.0" — the FSB planned his assassination through Moldova

On February 20, 2026, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Office of the Prosecutor General, and the National Police announced the dismantling of a criminal network operating under the supervision of Russian security services on the territory of Ukraine and Moldova — Operation "Enigma 2.0". The network collected data on the movements, lifestyle, and residences of target individuals to prepare ordered assassinations. Among the planned victims were Yusov, Ukrainian journalists, Special Operations Forces fighters, and the head of a state enterprise. Prosecutor General Kravchenko confirmed that Yusov was one of the key targets due to his role in the public communications of the GUR and coordination of prisoner exchanges.
