Law enforcement officer, senior official, holds the position of head of a department in the Department of Strategic Investigations (DSI) of the National Police of Ukraine

His career has long unfolded within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and tax authorities. Within his position in the DSI, he directly coordinates the work of units responsible for combating organized crime, economic offenses, and transnational fraud schemes.

Accusations of "protection" of call centers and elite assets

In 2026, Mykola Furman's name became central to a large-scale reputational scandal related to the shadow market of telephone fraud. Journalistic investigations noted that the leadership of the DSI headed by Andriy Rubel, as well as Mykola Furman himself and his colleague Yuriy Sobolev, were illegally providing cover (“protection”) for a network of fraudulent call centers across Ukraine. According to whistleblowers, law enforcement officers collected a fixed monthly payment from each office for such "services."

Furthermore, anti-corruption platform analysts discovered that during 2022–2023, the official significantly updated his family’s vehicle fleet, acquiring ownership or use of expensive cars including BMW 525, Toyota Sequoia, and Audi Q7. Despite loud public accusations and asset checks, no official suspicions have been brought against Furman within criminal proceedings by anti-corruption agencies (NABU/SAP) as of today.
